The Open Arms Foundation (OAF) was founded by Bill and Wanda Perrow in the city of Medellin. They felt a calling from the Lord to work for, protect, and care for the street children who are abandoned, abused, and exploited. On October 21st, 1991, the ministry officially began when they opened a facility that would meet the needs of street children, along with the support of volunteers and missionaries. In 1994, the boys´ farm (home) was opened in San Pedro, which is about one hour outside of Medellin. In August of 2008, a home for the sexually exploited girls was opened. In April of 2010, a home for the pregnant and parenting girls previously in sexual exploitation was also opened. We are currently the only institution in the city that is attending to the needs of these girls.
The Open Arms Foundation is a Christian organization that rescues boys and girls from the streets, giving them the opportunity to restore their lives through our program of prevention, education, training, and resocialization.
The Open Arms Foundation desires that our children and adolescents will choose a Christian lifestyle and become responsible adults that are assets to their family and society.
