We first started reaching out to Girls involved in sexual trafficking in February 2008, and then moved our first group of girls to a Girls Home in August 2008. We have moved on from housing girls that were all ready involved in sexual trafficking, to preventing girls from ever entering into this life.
We have begun a partnership with a church that is located in one of the poorest slums in Medellin, Santo Domingo. The young girls are involved in soccer activities in the community as a hook to draw them into the church. At the church they are taught about Jesus and about God’s plan for their sexuality. At this church they are also able to learn arts and craft skills like making shoes for sale. By reaching girls at an early age there is a higher chance that they can be spared from the atrocities of Sexual Trafficking.
